ALPMA continues its development. The Rotter specialist for dairy technology has received the most orders in the history of the company
A new order record, an expansion of the product range and a positive view into the future: ALPMA Alpenland Maschinenbau GmbH celebrated a successful business year at its works council meeting. "We were able to continue our success story and have reached important milestones in 2019," said Gisbert Strohn, Managing Director of the specialist for dairy and cheese processing systems from Rott am Inn. He thanked the approximately 875 employees for their commitment.
Never before in the company's 72-year history has ALPMA been able to book so many individual orders as last year, both in the cheese dairy technology and the process and cutting technology divisions. The company has consequently not just consolidated its position as the world market leader for cheese-making technology, but also set the points for further growth. Once again, ALPMA has impressed with "high technical and technological competence", said Strohn.
Expansion of the product range
With the acquisition of a Swiss company, ALPMA has created the basis for significantly expanding its product range. In January 2019, the company acquired a majority shareholding in the systems engineering company SULBANA, which specializes in the production of mozzarella and semi-hard cheese. Under the ALPMA-SULBANA brand, ALPMA offers the largest and technologically leading product range in the industry. "This means that we are also excellently positioned in the trend markets for the production of pizza cheese and classic semi-hard cheese", Frank Eberle explained in his speech.
With ambition into the future
But nobody in Rott wants to rest on their accomplishments. "We continue to invest in the future," promised CEO Strohn. ALPMA's main focus is on new technologies and production processes for various types of cheese, which are particularly trendy. ALPMA also wants to continue to invest in new installations technology and machine concepts. The company has set itself the goal of systematically completing its existing product range with a high level of unique selling points.
A key element of the future concept is digitalization, keyword industry 4.0, which ALPMA intends to expand at an increased level. We are developing concepts "to optimize the worldwide service of the systems and increase the availability of the installations", said Strohn.
In technical and digital innovation, special emphasis is placed on young people. In order to ensure that there are still enough skilled workers in Rott, the company consistently promotes young talent. ALPMA currently employs more than 70 trainees in various professions. "We will continue to offer young and committed people interesting tasks in an innovative company environment with attractive prospects in the future," said Strohn.
Honour for long-standing employees
At the works meeting, the company also honoured its long-standing employees. A total of 16 employees were honoured for their loyalty to the company - including seven employees who have been working for ALPMA for more than 25 years. Erika Hammerschmiedt, Helga Bendner, Egidius Huber and Peter Lewik also received a special honour for their 40 years of service.
