"It was a special challenge to set up the plant on a stage due to space constraints. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with our customer's technical project team, the installation was custom-built and went into operation on time. […] The heart of the Fonterra project is a new ALPMA RO HighTS-system with an integrated RO-Polisher. The first mozzarella whey was processed as early as November 2019. With perfect planning and team spirit, Fonterra and ALPMA/LTH were able to master the challenge together, "without impairing the ongoing whey processing and its high quality", says Diana Krabbe, Fonterra General Manager Operations Europe & Africa. Wyke Farms created the original concept then collaborated with the ALPMA design team to turn it into a deliverable solution. “We've maximised the output of our factory footprint and made our operations as efficient and productive as possible,” confirms Hooper. “All the objectives that we set with ALPMA at the start of the project are being met 100%.”
