A great honor for technical product designer Leonhard Simmerl: At the beginning of December, he was recognized by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) as the best German exam candidate in his dual vocational training program. Simmerl passed his final exam in the vocational training program for technical product designers specializing in machine and plant construction in the summer of 2025 with excellent results, beating around 250,000 other exam candidates nationwide.
Every year, the DIHK honors the best in dual training—a successful model that has been internationally recognized for decades and contributes significantly to securing skilled workers. The best graduates in Germany represent the high quality of in-company training and the wide variety of IHK professions.
The ceremony honoring the approximately 200 top trainees took place on December 8 in Berlin. In addition to the award winners, their relatives and representatives from training companies, politics, business, and the media also attended.
Dr. Johannes Stock, Head of Operations, who traveled to Berlin with Leonhard Simmerl for the national awards ceremony, particularly praised the achievements of our young employee:
